You’ll Never Guess What This Man Did With All His Extra Backyard Space!

Having extra outdoor space is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, it offers endless opportunities for outdoor decoration and amenities; if you have grand plans for your property, a large yard gives you the space to accomplish them.

This homeowner was determined not to let a good yard go to waste. For just $4,500, he transformed his property from an empty field to the site of a beautiful outdoor… well, wait and find out! This is incredible!

A Determined Homeowner

Most homeowners would simply leave a yard this size undeveloped. It’s a great place for kids to play, and anything built there would simply be lost in the sheer amount of empty space. This man, however, knew exactly how to build something grand enough to truly stand out, turning an empty backyard into a valuable addition to the house.

Staking Out The Area

The first step in any home improvement project is to define the area of your property that you are going to improve. This guy chose to build the new feature as an addition to the original patio area. This would allow the outdoor kitchen to function as a seamless extension of the house, incorporating the warmth and comfort of indoors as far out into the yard as possible.

Laying Out The Concrete

After defining the construction area, the next step was to install the concrete. With the help of a friend, he expanded the patio from 10 feet by 12 feet to 20 feet by 21 feet. This provided a large, durable base for later stages of the project.

 Choosing A Grill Structure

Simply moving his grill onto the new concrete would appear too impermanent. Instead, he decided to build a stone grill structure, incorporating the grill directly into the base of the expanded patio.
