Bus #1 – Hank Butitta’s School Project

To become an architect you not only have to have a working technical knowledge of creating, you must also be able to get your hands dirty. Hank Butitta, a student studying architecture, decided to renovate an old school bus for his final project.

An all wood interior

Here we get an ice look at the interior of Butitta’s project. We can see that the bus has been stripped of all seating and other common fixtures. Butitta used old gym flooring, the kind at your local school basketball court, for his foundation.

 Getting his hands dirty

When you decide to renovate an old bus you need to get your hands a little bit dirty. Butitta, who graduated from the University of Minnesota, dove headfirst into the work. He was tired of working on ‘imaginary projects’ in school and wanted to really put something together.
